| The Web Watch project is dedicated to using the World Wide Web to uncover potentially dangerous activities. A first step in the project was undertaken in 2002-2003 by Gene Connolly, who with Professors Anatoly Sachenko and George Markowsky wrote an Honors Thesis describing a technique for geographically locating a computer based on its IP address. Below is a link to his honors thesis, a 76 page document. Based on the Honors Thesis, a paper was presented at the IEEE Conference on Homeland Security held on May 7-8, 2003, in Cambridge Massachusetts. The abstract is presented below. Finally, there is a PDF of the presentation which George Markowsky gave at the conference and which describes this project more fully.
